My approach as an NYC elopement photographer is deeply rooted in documentary photography. I aim to capture the authenticity of your love story, focusing on candid moments that reveal your genuine emotions. In the midst of a bustling city, I'll discreetly capture those quiet, intimate moments that often go unnoticed. Fun Natural Moments:
There are some times during the day that are meant to be for taking photos.
During these times it’s my job to know how to make you look good and feel comfortable in front of the camera. Everyone (including myself) feels a little weird when a camera is thrown in their face.
I’m here to help you two have fun in front of the camera.
I like to use what I call is a ‘prompting style’ to encourage you and your partner to forget about the camera and have fun/focus on each other. Every couple is different, but here are a few examples of prompts I give to encourage natural interactions:
Go explore the area together, take some time to take in the views and just have fun walking around
Pretend you two have been doing long distance for 6 months and are meeting at the airport for the first time. I want you two to run into each others arms as if you’ve been apart all this time.
Every couple is different and depending on your vibe/relationship, my prompting style is custom to each couple and is meant to give you fun things to do together to create those candid & authentic moments of couples smiling and having fun together.
Fine Art Elegance: Creating Timeless Memories
While documentary photography captures the raw emotions and my prompting style creates natural interactions together- fine art photography elevates your elopement images to a new level of elegance. I use composition, lighting, and editing techniques to transform your photographs into works of art.
I like to mix in some of these compositionally beautiful photos of you two really small with the big city around you. I want you two to have some art of you two in the city, when you look back on these photos you can feel things, feel moments, and remember the amazing day you had.
