HOW TO plan an artist point wedding
STEP 1: pick a date for your artist point wedding
The best time of year to have an Artist Point wedding is late July to mid-September. The road to Artist Point is typically closed until atleast mid-July because the snow doesn’t melt until then! Once the road opens you can drive all the way up to the top for stellar views. The season for Artist Point weddings is very short, so make sure to plan ahead! You can still plan an Artist Point Wedding outside of this timeframe, but there may be snow up there, meaning you might have to hike 1-2 miles to get to the top, and the weather is more unpredictable outside of this time frame.
STEP 2: FIND THE BEST artist point wedding locations
There are a few Artist Point hikes to choose from for your wedding. Make sure to choose what location works best for you and your wedding plans. If you are bringing guests to your Artist Point wedding, then I would choose a more accessible location right near the parking lot. For other Artist Point wedding locations, you can either visit the area to scope out spots, or hire an adventure wedding/elopement photographer who has worked in the area and can help with locations! I’m an adventurous wedding photographer who works at Artist Point frequently, if you want to learn more about my packages & experience, click here.
STEP 3: know the rules of having an artist point wedding
Artist Point is a part of the Mount Baker National Forest. Current regulations require you to fill out an application form to get married there and follow their rules. Live non-native flowers are not permitted for weddings at Artist Point. (Silk or wood flowers work!) Also you are required to stay on trails and follow Leave no Trace principles!
STEP 4: CHOOSE VENDORS & CREATE YOUR wedding timeline
The next step in planning an Artist Point Wedding is hiring any vendors you may need, such as a photographer, hair and makeup artist, baker, videographer, florist etc. Then create a timeline for your day!
If you’re looking for help with everything mentioned above, you can hire a photographer who specializes in adventurous weddings & elopements can help. A beautiful Artist Point Wedding in the Mountains
Stephanie & Jeremy decided to have a wedding ceremony at Artist Point, then adventure out into the nearby mountains in Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. S & J started the day getting ready with both their families in a beautiful mountain cabin outside Artist point in Glacier, WA. Everyone was sipping on mimosas as S & J wrote private letters to each other to read in the mountains. After their first look, we drove out to Artist Point and hiked out to their ceremony spot. After their ceremony we celebrated with champagne in the cutest camping mugs and took some family photos. Then Stephanie and Jeremy said goodbye to the family to go off on a sunset hike in the mountains. The night was filled with bright pink sunset skys and even a mountain goat sighting! (obviously pictured below!!)
I posted a few of my favorite photos of my day below, keep scrolling to see the full blog post of images! (There’s over 100 of them!!)
