Camping Engagement Photos

Camping engagement photos: a fun way to capture your love story

A camping engagement session is a great idea for couples who either are avid campers or just enjoy spending time in nature. Jessica & Albert wanted a engagement photos that were laid back and felt like them. They both love camping, being outdoors and spending time with their pup Kenai- so they wanted memories from doing something they love captured to look back on! With wedding photos being so formal, it’s great to mix it up and capture some more casual & fun memories between the two of you for your engagement! How to Prepare for Your
Camping Engagement Photos

  1. Choose a Campground Location

The first step in planning a camping engagement session is choosing a location for your photos! I recommend reserving a campground spot, that way you are guaranteed a private space for your session. Even if you don’t stay overnight, you can show up after check in or the next day before check out to spend an hour or two taking photos at your campsite. Choose a campground that fits the aesthetic you’re going for. Some things to look for are wooded forest areas, lakes, rivers, or other natural backdrops for your photos.

2. Plan your activities

Your camping engagement photos can be more than just posed portraits. Plan some fun activities that you and your significant other can do together, such as making a campfire/s’mores, laying in a hamock, pitching a tent, playing with your pup, or swimming in a body of water. These activities will not only make for great photos, but also provide an opportunity to bond and create new memories together!

3. Pack accordingly

Make sure to pack the items that go along with these activities such as swimwear, camping gear, campfire wood etc! Wear clothes you feel comfortable in and that fit the environment. Wearing high heels and a super fancy dress doesn’t fit the vibe of a camping engagement session, so I recommend wearing clothes that you would naturally wear when camping!

4. Hire a Photographer

When it comes to capturing your camping engagement photos, you'll want to hire a professional photographer who has experience shooting in outdoor settings. A good photographer can help you find the best spots for your photos, use natural light to your advantage, and capture candid moments that showcase your love for each other.
