Interested in planning an adventure elopement in April but are still looking for the best location? I’VE GOT YOU. April is a great month for red rock/desert elopements, the temperature isn’t too hot (or cold) and the summer crowds haven’t started yet. So let’s talk more about locations!

Before we jump into locations, I just wanted to mention that this list is filled with general locations/areas that are the best to elope at. April Elopement Location #1: Moab, Utah

Moab, Utah is a red rock lovers dream. With three major parks near/in the town, you have dozens of views & scenery to explore for your adventure elopement. Arches National Park is one of the most popular parks, but for good reason- with natural sandstone arches scattered throughout the park- you can hike around and explore all the unique features this park has to offer. Canyonlands National Park is also nearby, about 40 minutes from Moab and offers unique & epic canyon views (in my option are cooler than the Grand Canyon itself)- this park tends to be ‘sleepier’ than Arches National Park- giving you some more privacy during your elopement. The last area is Dead Horse Point State Park, which is a personal favorite of mine, with an epic Bend down in the canyon and some of the best sunsets in the area.

April Elopement Location #2: Sedona, Arizona

Sedona, Arizona has some of the coolest red rock views in the country. There’s a perfect balance of accessible locations, challenging hikes, and epic sunrises & sunsets. Sedona also is a very fun town with cute restaurants and shops- making it a well-rounded elopement location. If you’re thinking about bringing family on your elopement, Sedona has some really beautiful ceremony spots that don’t take miles to hike too, so this might be the best places for you.

April elopement location #3: Zion National Park

Another great April elopement location is Zion National Park. Zion is located in Southern Utah so the weather will be a bit warmer than Moab or Sedona (because those two are at higher elevations)- Zion National Park is a massive park filled with unique canyon & towering rock views. This park can get a bit more crowded, but April is still a great time of year for elopements in Zion. It also has a cute town nearby, Springdale, that has some great restaurants- and if you’re looking to check out other spots while you’re here, Bryce Canyon National Park and Pink Sand Dunes are nearby for more epic adventures.

April elopement location #4: Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park is one of the coolest elopement locations in Utah (and in my opinion, is extremley underrated!). The park is filled with these bright orange towering rocks called ‘hoodoos’ that you really can’t get anywhere else in the U.S. Bryce is at a higher elevation than all the other locations listed- so it will definitely be one of the cooler temperature parks in April, but if you’re looking for unique & breath-taking elopement location- Bryce is a good one to consider!

April elopement location #5: Lake powell, utah

Lake Powell is an awesome elopement destination in the spring. There is so much to do on this lake from boating, jet skiing, hiking, camping and so much more! A famous photo spot Horseshoe Bend is nearby for some epic canyon views and there’s so many cool red rock destinations to explore around the lake! I’ve had couples rent boats and spend their elopement date riding around and exploring with just the two of them or with friends & family!
